This week finally felt like fall in Monterrey.
On Monday, I received a rain jacket I had ordered online. It fit perfectly. Woo!
The following morning, I woke up to the sound of rain and felt super happy that I had the right jacket for my morning walk with Thor. I got to enjoy the cool weather and the smell of rain without feeling even a hint of cold.
Random Lesson: No matter how lazy I feel about going to the super market in the morning, it’s best if I do. There’s no one there! I prefer to go in the afternoons, but then I’m discreetly throwing mental tantrums because I have to wait in line forever. It is decided. I will only go in the mornings.
I got a green screen! Well, I should clarify, my parents made me a green screen. 🙂
Since I started streaming, I realized a green screen could be fun to have, but I didn’t have any space in the room to bring in yet another tripod stand without having to shift furniture around.
My dad had the idea to order a window shade mechanism from Amazon and replace the shade with green material. My mom helped cut and sow it to size.
Here it is! A view of the ceiling.
To lower it, you use a removable attachment that hooks onto the mechanism. You turn it, and it lowers. Once raised or lowered, you remove the attachment so it’s not in the way.
It creates a little room within a room. I got to test it on a stream on Saturday, and it works! Thank you, Mom and Dad!
I had a singing lesson on Wednesday. I debated whether to take my arrangement of “Angels We Have Heard on High” to go over it with Oziel (my singing teacher). I felt it sounded ok and wondered if it would be worth it to spend class time on it.
Oh, boy. Was it worth it… haha! Every time I think I’m getting the hang of singing, Oziel shows me just how much I still have to learn.
The biggest improvement in this song was in making all phrases legato, instead of enunciating each syllable separately.
I was singing, “An.gels. we. have. heard. on. high”… it sounded bouncy. And now, I’m practicing so it sounds “Aaaaangelsweee haveeee heeeard oonhiiiigh”. Haha! Does this make sense? It makes it sound more polished. Maybe I should make a video demonstrating this difference! Could be a fun thing to share and it would remind me in the future to remember… Legato, Malu. Legato.
I’m slowly becoming a fan of Greek Yogurt. I’ve been going to a nutritionist and she highly recommended it instead of normal yogurt. If I mix it with fruit, it’s ok. Also, if you add a spoonful of peanut butter, it really tones down the acidity. On its own, I still can’t stomach it. I will keep trying until it becomes my favorite food. hahaha!
I managed to journal a few days this week, which was lovely. The days I forgot to write, are the days I barely remember. I’m hoping that I’ll get into an every day habit soon so that I don’t skip any days. It’s nice to see that when I do write, my plan works. I capture memories and those days don’t simply vanish.
I hope you guys have a great week!
Thanks for reading. Talk to you soon!
