Fall is Here - Malukah Sunday Recap

Fall is Here - Malukah Sunday RecapFall

This week finally felt like fall in Monterrey.

On Monday, I received a rain jacket I had ordered online. It fit perfectly. Woo!

The following morning, I woke up to the sound of rain and felt super happy that I had the right jacket for my morning walk with Thor. I got to enjoy the cool weather and the smell of rain without feeling even a hint of cold.

Super Market

Random Lesson: No matter how lazy I feel about going to the super market in the morning, it’s best if I do. There’s no one there! I prefer to go in the afternoons, but then I’m discreetly throwing mental tantrums because I have to wait in line forever. It is decided. I will only go in the mornings.

Green Screen

I got a green screen! Well, I should clarify, my parents made me a green screen. 🙂

Since I started streaming, I realized a green screen could be fun to have, but I didn’t have any space in the room to bring in yet another tripod stand without having to shift furniture around.

My dad had the idea to order a window shade mechanism from Amazon and replace the shade with green material. My mom helped cut and sow it to size.

Here it is! A view of the ceiling.

Green Screen Ceiling

To lower it, you use a removable attachment that hooks onto the mechanism. You turn it, and it lowers. Once raised or lowered, you remove the attachment so it’s not in the way.

Green Screen

It creates a little room within a room. I got to test it on a stream on Saturday, and it works! Thank you, Mom and Dad!

Singing

I had a singing lesson on Wednesday. I debated whether to take my arrangement of “Angels We Have Heard on High” to go over it with Oziel (my singing teacher). I felt it sounded ok and wondered if it would be worth it to spend class time on it.

Oh, boy. Was it worth it… haha! Every time I think I’m getting the hang of singing, Oziel shows me just how much I still have to learn.

The biggest improvement in this song was in making all phrases legato, instead of enunciating each syllable separately.

I was singing, “An.gels. we. have. heard. on. high”… it sounded bouncy. And now, I’m practicing so it sounds “Aaaaangelsweee haveeee heeeard oonhiiiigh”. Haha! Does this make sense? It makes it sound more polished. Maybe I should make a video demonstrating this difference! Could be a fun thing to share and it would remind me in the future to remember… Legato, Malu. Legato.

Greek Yogurt

I’m slowly becoming a fan of Greek Yogurt. I’ve been going to a nutritionist and she highly recommended it instead of normal yogurt. If I mix it with fruit, it’s ok. Also, if you add a spoonful of peanut butter, it really tones down the acidity. On its own, I still can’t stomach it. I will keep trying until it becomes my favorite food. hahaha!

Journaling

I managed to journal a few days this week, which was lovely. The days I forgot to write, are the days I barely remember. I’m hoping that I’ll get into an every day habit soon so that I don’t skip any days. It’s nice to see that when I do write, my plan works. I capture memories and those days don’t simply vanish.

I hope you guys have a great week!

Thanks for reading. Talk to you soon!
Malu

I have the same problem with journaling. Though I managed to write something for each day. But yeah, for some days I really didn’t know what to write. I’m sorry for that earlier and thank you for understanding, you are the best. And thank you for suggesting that I write a journal, it really feels good. Hope you are well and have a great week!

Hurray for dad and mom Malukah!

I swear that one of these days I will find you online on time though to see it in action. For now I’m very glad that you can watch them back on Twitch. 🙂

Glad to hear you’re still going strong on the singing lessons! Can’t wait to hear how that works out 😀 (though Oziel better not make you lose that awesome style of yours)

As for greek yoghurt: try it with some granes/seeds and honey. bit of raisins if you’re into that (not for me personally). That also tastes amazing!

Raisins are not for me, either! haha! But I’ll try the other suggestions for sure! Honey definitely helps. 😀 Thank you so much for reading! I do hope we get to coincide during a live stream! 😀 Take care, Thijs! 😀

Oh, and I forget to mention… being able to retain my style or sound was very important. I worried about that when I started taking lessons, but thankfully Oziel has been careful to teach me how to retain this style, while singing in a healthy way! 😀

Haha, no worries. 🙂 I have the livestreams on alert, so that should work out. (although the 2 am one last night was on the late side for me XD).

Oziel sounds like a good teacher. Keep up with the healthy singing and stay well! 🙂

I love the transitions of autumn, but love winter even more. That’s pretty nifty trick with the green screen. Go mom and dad 🙂 First time visiting your blog, despite the fact I’m subbed to your youtube, twitch, fb and twitter (no, I’m not stalking. just a big fan and NOW I can find out when you are twitching in a more timely manner). Hugs and cookies to you and Thor (and Omi too)!

It’s so cool that you stopped by the site! 😀 As awesome as it feels to have profiles on social media, there is something very cool about having this particular space. Thanks again, so soooo much for being a part of the stream and for your support. It really means a lot! I will enjoy virtual cookies in your honor. I will not share them with Omi or Thor. Cookies are MINE!!!! hahaa! I kid, I kid!

Hi Malukah! First I congratulate you on successful purchase. Let good luck accompany you always and everywhere. Also I thank your parents for the fact that they have grown up and have brought up such girl as you and I wish them long years of life and good health. And at the end I want to tell that Steve’s comment has woken up in me feeling of jealousy of you (hahaha). Because I am signed on all your chanals on Youtobe too, and also in other your profiles in social sites. But in any cases I am very glad that I am not your only admirer. I wish you all the best and let joy will never abandon you (Amin). Mooore thanks!!!
