Sunday Recap: Oct. 2 – 8, 2017

This was a great week for music streaming because of my new scrolling rig, courtesy of Doug Y. and Nick Sulkers. I can now scroll song texts with my foot and don’t have to interrupt a song to do so! WOOOOOOOO!!!! Here’s a blog post I wrote about it! Thank you, Nick & Doug!

I spent the beginning of the week preparing letter and journal rewards for Patreons. My favorite part of writing letters is getting to use a wax seal! I originally placed this on the outside of the letters, but quickly found out wax seals do not survive today’s mailing process. hehe! Now, I make sure that it’s inside on the letter itself.

Once the Patron Rewards were done, I moved on to preparing the new batch of orders of The Dragonborn Comes physical album that I’m going to be shipping out next week. Even though I love, looooove writing individual thank you cards for each purchase, I’m unable to continue doing that when dealing with big orders. When the CD released in August, I wrote cards for everyone, and this resulted in me developing a muscular contraction in my back. I hadn’t written by hand that much in years, and my body went, “Nope…” Hehe! I’m still going to physical therapy for that. Ah, but it was worth it. hahaha!

Luckily, I found a good solution for the new batch of orders that still adds a little personal touch. I hand wrote a thank you message and printed this on postcards. They turned out great! The front has the album cover, and the back has the message. They have a matte coating, so they feel fancy (well, to me) and could be like a complement keepsake.

In an ideal world, I would write to everyone. I really would. I love it.

Omi and I watched Blade Runner 2049, and it was awesome! I enjoyed it even more than the original. It’s a bit slow paced, but so beautiful. Every single shot of the movie could be a beautiful desktop background image. Stunning! Have you seen it yet? What did you think?

StealLikeanArtist.jpgAaaand, I finished reading a great book called, “Steal Like an Artist”** by Austin Kleon. I hope to write a post about this later on, but I’ll share my favorite quote from the book now:

“Validation is for parking.”

Hahahahahahaha! So perfect in this internet age where there are so many opinions and judgements going around. Let everyone say what they want. You just keep on working. This book is amazing for folks (like me) that enjoy creativity… whether it’s songs, writing, painting…

I recommend getting the printed version of this book because it’s beautiful and enganging. I feel e-readers wouldn’t do the experience justice. Now, I’m on to the sequel, called “Show Your Work.” I’ll let you know how it goes!

Aaaaaaand, I continued going to the gym. Good, Maloofus. The anxiety/cravings are starting to calm down.

Thanks for reading! Take Care,

*insert recap all the things meme here* haha

I’m usually late on the movie bandwagons so I’ll probably watch the new Blade Runner in like 5 years 😀

It’s awesome that TDC album is selling so well!

There is one thing missing from the updates though: the epic 2nd of October stream didn’t make it in, despite the distortion-filled fun times we had, enjoying classics like:
Master of Puppets, Sweet Child of Mine, Nothing Else Matters, Basket Case and an Enter Sandman performance for the ages!

\m/ More Metal Malu Mondays! \m/

Hey Malu, it’s been a while that i didn’t post a comment on your blog, the last was … in May i think ^^. Seeing this post, it reminds me the projects i support on the website Ulule (french site for crowdfunding). Hope your Patreons project is successful. By the way, a lot of good things happened to me this summer, and unfortunately, i didn’t take time to write you something (shame on me ^^). And i really want to thank you for what you told me the last time, i started playing the piano as i said in my last post (but with late :/ …), and to improve my piano level, i found a really nice piano book in pdf that i printed : the Twenty five easy and progressive studies of Burgmuller. And i’m surprised to see that i didn’t lose as much as i think ^^. I’m also so glad you discovered Life Is Strange, it’s one of my favourite video games 🙂 (i finished it 4 or 5 times i don’t remember, and i think i’ll do it another time while waiting the episode two of LiS : Before the Storm :p). I hope you enjoy this game as i loved it. Oh, and a little anecdote : i think that if my parents didn’t care of me when i was 17-18 years old, i would look like Chloe, having her way of thinking and acting. Plus, like her, i’m a science geek, cause science is hella cool :p.

Best wishes from a lost village in the woods in the East of France. 🙂

P.S : After my post in May when i was a little despressed, you don’t have any idea how your music “I follow the Moon” helped me.

Zanktom! It’s great to hear from you again! And even cooler to know that you began practicing the piano again and found that you didn’t have to start from zero. It’s amazing all that the mind can remember. I also hope that you are feeling better these days. Thanks for sharing that Moon was comforting to you during dark days! Take care, Zanktom! My best wishes to you from a sunny day in Mexico all the way to your village in the woods!
